It’s extremely difficult to say everything we want to say, impossible to keep it succinct.⁣

Five and a half years ago you started here. ⁣
We told you that we didn’t want to be like any other shop, we wanted the shop to be an anomaly, akin to a travelling freak show, half stand-up routine, half fruit shop, half place to hang out (I’m not good at maths)⁣
You never balked, you never asked why. Diving in head first, giving your all to a dumb, little, shithole shack on the side of the road in Silvan.⁣
⁣
The impact that you’ve had, on not just us, or the shop, but the community in general has been immense. Showered with gifts from customers this week.⁣
You’ve provided a shoulder, an ear, a smile, laughs, insults and general weirdness to a community of people who probably just wanted to come in and buy a zucchini or two. ⁣
You took the edge off our abrasiveness. ⁣
⁣
What you have done for this shop is immeasurable.⁣
You took our vision and said “this is what you want? Fuck that! Let’s see how much farther we can take it”.⁣
Every day working alongside you has been a pleasure (with the exception of xmas 2023).⁣
Not one bit a “yes” man, making us accountable, telling us we’re wrong when you thought we were wrong and arguing it until we were all yelling at each other.⁣

We’ll miss you talking about tanks, Otto Von Bismarck, the movie Fury, the Hawks, how cars actually work, ranking your favourite customers, would you rather scenarios, or whatever dumb fucking fantasy book you were currently reading, where a dragon is trying to have sex with a woman made entirely of gold, who is probably also it’s sister.⁣

You’ve been here for all of it, the highs and the lows, you’ve ridden the wave, not as someone who works for us, but with us, celebrating OUR victories and OUR success. ⁣
And it is OUR success, no matter if the Herald Sun cut you out of the photos when we got in the paper, there was a reason we wanted you in those photos, you were just as responsible as us being in the paper as we were.⁣

Here’s something people may not know.⁣
During Covid, when Josh and BJ were both going to the market every day at 2am and then working until 6-7pm, Harri took over the shop. Anything within the shop itself was controlled by Harri, customer service, amount of people in the shop, restocking the shelves, pretty much all of it.⁣
He would kick Josh and BJ out of the shop, sending them out the back to work.⁣
The thing is, he never stopped running the shop, he’s held down the fort and taken control since then.⁣

Harri once decided he’d give writing the signs for the shop a crack, the first one he drew a picture of a watermelon, the second one he went to write on our strawberry deal for that day, instead of writing STRAWBS, he wrote STRABS. BJ filmed it and put it on the story and it got a few laughs, H corrected the sign and put it out.⁣
A few days later after some rain, H rewrote the sign, and again wrote STRABS, BJ unable to contain his excitement at shitting on Harri, filmed it and put it on the story again.⁣

This time however, it sparked a reaction and we were getting message after message after message, laughing at STRABS.⁣

This has continued for years, people bring up STRABS at least once a week, 4 years on, and he still can’t live it down!⁣

In 2018 when Josh and BJ decided to play Ross Ryan’s album non stop for 45 days to lure him into the shop, it irritated Harri.⁣
It was not his style of music, and even though he found it funny, he thought the whole thing was ridiculous. At this point Harri had been working at the shop for about 6 months.⁣

On the day that we found out Ross Ryan was going to come to the shop and play a few songs, Harri was visibly annoyed. When Josh asked “why aren’t you excited about this?”⁣
